In an anti-corruption crackdown, a Tahsildar from AS Peta in Nellore district was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while accepting a bribe.

The accused, identified as Shantiswaroop, was allegedly taking Rs 20,000 from a

farmer, Krishna Reddy, in exchange for changing the name in a passbook.

Acting on a complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and apprehended the Tahsildar at the time of accepting the bribe. Further investigation into the case is underway.
