New Delhi: Delhi Police is looking into every angle in the Sultanpuri incident and investigation will be completed Soon. Briefing the media in New Delhi, Special Commissioner of Delhi Police, Dr. SP Hooda said that Delhi Police has got three days custody of all five accused. He said, the accused will be taken to the scene of crime and a timeline will be established on the basis of CCTV footage and digital evidence.
Mr. Hooda said, the forensic and legal teams are also assisting Delhi police and more charges could be added against the accused based on the post-mortem report of the woman.
In a tweet, Commissioner of Delhi Police, Sanjay Arora urged people for maintaining peace in the National Capital. He said, the department will set an example in the case by taking the strictest legal action so that such incidents do not happen again.
Earlier, Delhi Police has arrested all five accused in a case related to the death of a woman in the
Kanjhawala area in the national capital, when her scooty was reportedly hit by a car and she was dragged under the vehicle for a few kilometers.
In a tweet, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena said that he is monitoring the case with Delhi Police Commissioner and all aspects are being thoroughly looked into. Reacting to the incident, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called it shameful and said that the culprits should be punished.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women, NCW has taken cognizance of the case. NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to Delhi Police Commissioner to conduct a fair and time-bound investigation into the matter. The Commission has also sought that the victim's post-mortem must be conducted to ascertain whether the victim was sexually assaulted or not and to invoke relevant provisions in the FIR if allegations levelled by victim's mother are found to be true.
