In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience and responding to local demand, the Northern Railway has decided to introduce a new halt for the Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat Express at Reasi Railway Station from October 29.
Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the train, numbered 26401-26402, will stop for two minutes at Reasi in both directions.
Until
now, the semi-high-speed train only had a single stop between Katra and Srinagar at Banihal. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Northern Railway, Uchit Singhal, said the decision was taken to cater to the growing number of passengers from Reasi district, which attracts thousands of devotees visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine and tourists coming to see the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge.
