Srinagar: In Jammu & Kashmir, the vital Srinagar Jammu National Highway has been restored this morning and all the stranded passenger and transport vehicles were allowed to move from both sides. However, Srinagar-Leh National Highway and Mughal Road in south Kashmir’s Shopian linking Rajouri and other Jammu areas, continue to remain blocked for vehicular traffic.

Srinagar Jammu National Highway was closed yesterday due to landslides in Panthal, Gangroo, Magerkote and Ramsu areas in Ramban district in Jammu region. In Srinagar and plains in Valley, the weather has started improving in late morning with sun shining.

A cold wave had gripped the valley since Saturday evening as rainfall started throughout the Valley. Gulmarg, Shopian, Karnah and Gurez areas also experienced snowfall that plummeted the temperature by around 10 notches below normal till wee hours early this morning.
