The district administration is taking steps to complete the installation of soak pits quickly, with a view to collect rainwater in the rainy season.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao went a step further, assuring Rs 10 lakh, Rs 5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh prizes for mandal parishads in the district, which would complete the task before the deadline.
He reviewed the status of soak pit installations, construction of Individual House Hold Latrines (IHHLs), provision of NREGS work, supply of drinking water, Haritha Haram and other issues with district, division and mandal

officials, MPPs and ZPTCs at the District Collectorate on Tuesday through video-conferencing.
Addressing the officials, Harish Rao said that soak pits were the top priority for monsoon followed by provision of NREGS works. He also warned the officials concerned that action would be initiated against them who fail to provide NREGS work or delay payments to people during drought.
Harish Rao said that awards would be presented to officials on Telangana Formation Day, for performing exceptionally well in completing and promoting certain government initiatives.
