Karur MLA MR Vijayabhaskar resigned from the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Monday, becoming the sixth legislator from the AIADMK to quit after the formation of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government.

Speculations are rife about him joining the ruling TVK

soon.

The former transport minister submitted his resignation letter to Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar at the Secretariat.

With Vijayabhaskar's move, the number of vacancies in the state Assembly is set to increase further, subject to the Speaker accepting the resignation.
