Six Killed, Two Children Critical In Car-Bus Collision In Karnataka

Six persons were killed and two children critically injured in a head-on collision between a private bus and a car on National Highway 151A near Shantapur Cross in Shorapur taluk of Yadgir district on Thursday morning.

The victims are from Sirwar in Raichur. The impact of the collision was so severe that both vehicles caught fire. The bus was from Bengaluru to Kalaburagi and the car was from Venugopalaswami Temple in Surpur to Sirwar in



Raichur.

According to police, eight people from Sirwar were travelling in the car. Of them, six died on the spot, while two children sustained critical injuries and were shifted to the Yadgir Institute of Medical Sciences (YIMS) for treatment. 

The deceased have been identified as Krishna Nayak (52), his wife Ananthakala (45), Sharanappa (36), his wife Nisarga (30), Siddhartha (3), son of Sharanappa, and Shashikala (30).
