The situation across Jammu region remained peaceful for second consecutive day yesterday amidst restrictions imposed in all 10 districts in the wake of abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A. Night deployment had been intensified in Kishtwar and Rajouri districts.  

Authorities last night decided that all educational institutions across the province will remain closed for third day today. Commercial traffic on National Highways and all other major roads remained suspended while private vehicles were seen plying in the city and other roads.

for aid to civil authorities in maintaining law and order. Restrictions were more stringent during night in Kishtwar and Rajouri districts. Divisional Commissioner Jammu, and Inspector General of Police Jammu were monitoring the situation in the region. 

Jammu University has announced postponement of M Phil/PhD entrance examinations and all UG/PG exams which were scheduled to be held today. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Jammu relaxed the restrictions for officials, staff and Assistants of BSNL, J&K Bank and their ATM Vans and all Government employees posted within the Jammu district.
