In Sikkim, the National Highway number 10 will remain closed from Coronation Bridge to Chitrey for three days. A notification in this regard was issued by the NHIDCL yesterday, stating that due to safety measures, the plying of vehicles in this stretch of 30 kilometres have been closed. NHIDCL has also told the concerned district administrations of West Bengal and Sikkim to monitor and restrict the vehicle movements in



this stretch. 

The order has come into effect from 8 pm last night and will continue till Wednesday at 6 pm. Following this order, vehicles plying particularly between Gangtok to Siliguri have to go via Lava and Gorubathan and other alternative routes. Several incidents of landslides have been reported on National Highway 10 recently due to the rains.
