In Sikkim, preparations are underway to open the Cho La and Doklam regions for domestic tourists under the Centre’s Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan scheme. Official sources confirmed that Doklam, Cho La, and Nathula are among the identified destinations for the battlefield tourism circuit in the state.

While Nathula is already a popular tourist spot, the other locations are being developed in consultation with the Army and relevant

agencies. Preparations are in place to welcome tourists by the end of September this year. Basic amenities, including parking facilities, restrooms, and cafeterias, are being set up.

After an eight-year stand-off between Indian and Chinese troops, Doklam will be opened to tourists. It is located at an altitude of nearly 14 thousand feet and about 70 km away from the capital, Gangtok.
