Uttar Pradesh government has suspended seven police officers, including a Station Officer for negligence in connection with the burning of Unnao rape victim. Bihar Police Station Incharge SO Ajay Tripathi, two Sub-Inspectors Arvind Singh Raghuvanshi and Shri Ram Tiwari along with four Constables have been suspended. The suspension order said all of these police personnel have been suspended with immediate effect, keeping in view the negligence of work,  laxity, and arbitrariness in the incidents related to crime control and prosecutions.

The victim was set on fire when she was on her way to the court outside her village in Bihar police area on Thursday morning. She sustained 90 per



cent injuries and was shifted to a hospital in Lucknow. She succumbed to her injuries at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi.

The State Government has provided a financial assistance of 25 lakh rupees to the family members of the victim and assured that two houses under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana for family members will also be provided. A suitable job to one family member of victim was also promised by the government.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already said that state government will take up the case in Fast track court and will ensure severe punishment to the culprits of this heinous crime.
