Delhi Police have made another arrest in connection with the recent attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The accused, identified as Tahseen Syed, was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy.
According to officials, Tahseen, a resident of Rajkot, is a close friend of Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakariya, the prime accused who carried out the attack on the Chief Minister. Investigations revealed that Tahseen had transferred Rs 2,000 to Rajesh prior to the incident.
Police detained Tahseen in Rajkot and subsequently brought him to Delhi, where he was formally arrested. This marks the second arrest in the case.
In addition
to Tahseen, Delhi Police have also questioned five of Rajesh’s friends as part of the ongoing investigation.
The assault on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta occurred during her weekly Jan Sunwai (public hearing) at her Civil Lines residence on Wednesday morning. These public hearings, held since she assumed office, allow citizens from across Delhi to bring their grievances directly to the Chief Minister.
Sakariya, arrived at the camp office in a rickshaw and gained entry posing as a complainant. He handed over some papers, claiming he was seeking the release of a jailed relative. Moments later, he assaulted the Chief Minister, pushed her and then grabbed her by the hair.
