The State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) at Pegadapalli of Jaipur mandal, produced 3,941 million units of electricity in its first financial year. One of its units has scripted history by registering cent per cent of plant load factor (PLF) in the month of February as against its installed capacity. The plant has two units of 600 MW each.

In a statement issued by SCCL, Chief and Managing Director N Sridhar said that the plant generated 3,941 million units of power in the maiden fiscal. “Significantly, the Unit II achieved 100 per cent of plant load factor (PLF) in February. And, the Unit I registered 90 per cent of PLF during the same period. Therefore, the average PLF of the plant is accounted for 95 per cent.

the highest PLF when compared with that of any plants operated in the State and belonging to Telangana State Power Generations Corporation (TSGENCO) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) or any other organisaitons, he said. The commercial operation declaration (CoD) of the two units was commenced on September 25 and December 2, respectively.

On August 6 last, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had dedicated the 1,200 mw State-owned mining company, Singareni Thermal Power Project to the nation in presence of State Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. The SCCL built the plant by investing Rs 8,250 crore. The plant has been allotted three TMC water from Godavari and Pranahita. It consumes 60 lakh tonnes of coal from the Singareni mines.
