The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of two Senior Judicial Officers, Sanjay Parihar and Shahzad Azeem as Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Justice Sanjiv Khanna, in its meeting held yesterday approved the proposal for appointment of Judicial Officers-Sanjay Parihar and Shahzad Azeem as Judges of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh. Sanjay Parihar is presently holding



the post of Member J&K Special Tribunal, Jammu on deputation basis while as Shahzad Aseem is Registrar General of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh. 

At present, High Court of J&K and Ladakh has sanctioned strength of 25 Judges including 19 Permanent and 6 Additional Judges. However, the existing strength is 13 including Chief Justice and presently there is no Additional Judge.
