Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the Sahityostav 2025 in New Delhi yesterday. Addressing the gathering, the Minister lauded the literary heritage of the country. He underscored that the country has a tradition of thousands of literary creations. Mr Shekhawat underlined the rich history of Sahityotsav’s last 41 years. He also highlighted that literature is the mirror of society. He added that writers reflect the divine powers of Brahma, the creator, Vishnu, the protector and Mahesh, the destroyer.
 
The festival brings together over 700 writers from different parts of



the country, representing more than 50 languages. The festival will also witness the presentation of the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Awards in 23 languages. It will also feature nearly 120 sessions. The theme of this festival is Indian Literary Traditions. It will feature Young Writers, Women Writers, North East and Tribal writers, LGBTQ writers and poets, alongside renowned writers, translators, publishers, poets, and distinguished personalities from various fields. The festival is open and free for all literary lovers and will culminate on the 12th of this month.
