A 32-year-old RPF jawan was mowed down by a train in Jharkhand's Ranchi district on Thursday, an official said.The incident took place near Namkum Railway Station in the early hours of Thursday, he said. 

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Begusarai district in Bihar. "Preliminary investigation suggests that the jawan died after a train ran



over him. 

He was recently transferred from Suisa Railway Station in West Bengal and joined duty on May 14 at the Namkum station," said Shishupal Kumar, officer-in-charge at the Railway Protection Force (RPF) police station in Ranchi. 

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway, he said.
