Reliance Jio, which is completing 10 years of operations, has credited affordable connectivity and technology-led innovation with transforming India’s digital landscape, taking the country from limited mobile data usage to one of the world’s largest data-consuming markets.

The company was founded with the vision of accelerating India’s digital transformation by making high-speed connectivity affordable and widely accessible.

When Jio entered the market in 2016, mobile data was

expensive and average monthly consumption was less than 0.2 GB per user. Data prices, which were around Rs 228 per GB, have now fallen to about Rs 7.9, while average consumption on Jio’s network has risen to around 42.3 GB per month.

Jio now serves more than 524 million customers, while its digital applications have over 360 million monthly active users.

The company has also expanded into home broadband, enterprise connectivity, cloud services, devices and artificial intelligence.
