A day after a car blast near Red Fort killed 10 people on Monday, the web of terror has begun to unravel. Dr. Mohammad Umar, who carried out the attack, along with his close aides Dr. Muzammil Shakil and Dr. Abdeel Ahmad Rather - all part of the Faridabad module - were linked to nearly 2,900 kilograms of bomb-making materials and ammonium nitrate recovered on the morning of the attack.
It is believed that Umar panicked after the arrest of his associate, Dr. Shakil - the main accused in the Faridabad module - which led him to carry out the attack. Intelligence sources
said it was not a suicide attack, as the suspect triggered the explosion in panic. The bomb was premature and not fully developed, which limited its impact, sources further revealed.
Also linked to the Faridabad module is a woman doctor, Shaheen, who was reportedly using Dr. Shakil’s car and was tasked with heading Jaish’s women’s wing in India.
At the centre of it all is Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences & Research Centre in Faridabad, where most of the doctors currently in custody, including Dr Shakil and Dr Shaheen, had worked.
