Registration for the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand began yesterday. A record 1.75 lakh devotees registered on the first day by 5 PM on Thursday. This year, registrations will be Aadhaar-authenticated, and devotees will be required to provide their Aadhaar card details during registration. Of the total registrations, 60 percent will be conducted online, while 40 percent will be offline, ensuring that pilgrims face no
difficulties.
To facilitate this process, the number of registration centres along the travel routes, including Haridwar and Rishikesh, will be increased. Pilgrims can register online at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in. It is worth noting that this year, the Char Dham Yatra will start with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams on April 30.
