Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has achieved a historic milestone in defence exports, reaching an all-time high of Rs 38,424 crore in FY 2025–26.
This marks a significant growth of 62.66% over the previous fiscal year. In a post on X, Singh said the sharp rise reflects growing global trust in India’s indigenous capabilities and advanced
manufacturing strength. He noted that the increase of Rs 14,802 crore highlights the country’s expanding presence in the global defence market.
The Defence Minister added that both public and private sectors contributed to this achievement. Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) accounted for 54.84% of exports, while private industry contributed 45.16%, showcasing a strong, collaborative and self-reliant defence ecosystem.
