Rain has broken the record of 100 years in the month of May in Rajasthan. The temperature remained five to six degrees Celsius below average, while 458 percent excess rainfall was recorded in the state.

According to the Met Department, 62 mm of rainfall has been recorded during the month due to the effect of seven western disturbances. On the other hand, there has also been a huge loss of life and property due to incidents of storm, hailstorm and lightning in the state.

20 people lost their lives in different accidents due to strong storms that hit the state two-three



times in the last ten days. Thousands of animals and birds have been killed, while hundreds of houses have been damaged. Several polly house structures and Solar power Units have been destroyed.

Thousands of electric poles and transformers were damaged due to these storms, which affected power supply in more than 13 thousand villages. Even now, power supply has not been restored in about two thousand villages. Energy Minister of the state Bhanwar Singh Bhati has instructed the officials to restore power supply at all places in the next three days.
