The Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed in and around the Parliament Street police station here on Friday as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi staged a dharna demanding registration of an FIR over pellet injuries suffered by a 19-year-old youth during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20.
A large number of police and RAF personnel were deployed around the police
station, which also houses the New Delhi DCP's office.
Additional police personnel were pressed into service in view of Gandhi's sit-in, police sources said.
Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, was accompanied by Sahil Lochab, who suffered pellet injuries to his eyes and abdomen during the protest against the NEET paper leak and alleged examination irregularities.
