Radhika Yadav, a former state-level tennis player shot dead by her father earlier this week, did not own an academy and used to provide training to budding players at rented tennis courts situated at different places, which did not sit well with her father, Gurugram Police said on Saturday.
Radhika, 25, was shot dead at her home in Gurugram, allegedly by her father, Deepak Yadav, using his licenced revolver on July 10. The murder took place at their Gurugram Sector 57 residence where Radhika lived with her parents.
"Radhika did not have her own academy. She used to train aspirants by booking tennis courts at different places. Deepak had
asked her several times to stop the training sessions, but she refused. That was the main tussle between the father and daughter," news agency PTI quoted an investigating officer as saying on Saturday.
This came after the police earlier said that Radhika ran an academy which Deepak Yadav (49) had a problem with, saying he was taunted by people about living off his daughter's earnings, as claimed by the accused.
However, the investigation has found out that Deepak Yadav earned handsome money through rental income generated through various properties he owns. Police said that he was not dependent on Radhika's money, but was depressed for some time.
