The Quad Foreign Ministers? Meeting is underway in New Delhi. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar is hosting the meeting.
Foreign Minister of Australia Penny Wong, Foreign Minister of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are participating in the meeting.
In his opening remarks, Dr Jaishankar said that during the meeting, the Foreign ministers will be discussing and deciding the shared activities and will take into account many challenges and opportunities in the world.
He said that the primary focus of the meeting will clearly be on the Indo-Pacific and at the global level, deliberations will address issues like supply chain resilience, manufacturing and resource concentrations and gaps in critical infrastructure.

Jaishankar further underlined that the Indo-Pacific has its own particular concerns and it will require enhancing strategic confidence, ensuring maritime security, promoting economic choices and fostering a deeper and collaborative ethos.
He added that as maritime democracies, pluralistic societies and market economies, QUAD countries share a responsibility towards a free and open Indo-Pacific and emphasised that the region must remain a driver of global growth and stability. He expressed confidence that today?s meeting will be useful and productive.
During the meeting, the Ministers will exchange views on advancing Quad cooperation across priority areas, review progress on ongoing Quad initiatives, and reflect on recent developments in the Indo-Pacific region and other international issues of mutual concern.
