Punjab: Farmers take out tractor march to protest Land Pooling Policy

In Punjab, farmers took out a tractor march in many parts of the state to protest the state government’s proposal for acquisition of lands under its Land Pooling Policy.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) leader, Balbir Singh Rajewal alleged that the state government has implemented the policy without taking any expert opinion and conducting any survey. He has demanded the withdrawal of the policy from



the state government. Protesting farmers were part of various farmers’ associations affiliated with the SKM.

Meanwhile, Former MP and former Punjab BJP President, Shwait Malik has criticized the land pooling policy. Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa has also expressed grave concerns regarding the policy.
