At least 30 passengers were injured, including 10 critically, after a private travels bus overturned on National Highway 44 near Vannedoddi in Gooty mandal of Anantapur district on Tuesday.
According to reports, the bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Anantapur when the driver allegedly lost control while trying to avoid an oncoming lorry.
The
vehicle overturned and rolled three times before veering off the highway into nearby agricultural fields.
Locals and emergency responders rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to hospitals. Those in critical condition were later referred to the Anantapur district hospital for better treatment. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
