New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the demise of senior advocate Shanti Bhushan. President Murmu said that an era has passed in the demise of the legendary lawyer and former Union Law Minister. 

In her message, she said, he always stood up for his beliefs. She said, he has left his imprint as much on politics as on jurisprudence. She expressed her condolences to his family and friends.

notable contributions to jurisprudence and public affairs. He added, his demise is a huge loss for India's legal fraternity. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members.

The Prime Minister said, in his condolence message, Shanti Bhushan will be remembered for his contribution to the legal field and passion towards speaking for the underprivileged.

Former Law Minister and senior advocate Shanti Bhushan passed away in Noida, UP yesterday. He was 97. He was India's Law Minister from 1977 to 1979.
