New Delhi: Ministry of Education will be organizing Shikshak Parv-2021 from Teacher's Day on 5th of September, which will continue till 17th of this month through virtual mode.

Briefing media in New Delhi, Additional Secretary of School Education Department and Literacy in the Ministry, Santosh Kumar Sarangi informed that in recognition of valuable contributions of the teachers and to take National Education Policy-2020 a step forward, the Department has decided to celebrate Shikshak Parv this year too.

On vaccination drive to inoculate more than two crore teachers, Mr Sarangi said, the progress of vaccination in the states is being monitored by the Department of School Education and Literacy. He said, this will also contribute to decisions pertaining to school reopening.

Joint Secretary R.C. Meena informed that President Ram Nath Kovind will confer the awards to 44 awardees through virtual mode on the Teacher's Day. He said, during the event, a documentary film on each of the awardee teachers will also be shown. Mr Meena informed that the National Awards to Teachers were first instituted in 1958 to recognize excellence and commitment of teachers in shaping the minds as well as future of the youth.

that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the teachers, students, parents and stakeholders associated with education on 7th of this month at 11 A.M. He also informed that the Prime Minister will launch five initiatives of the Department.

These include, Indian Sign Language dictionary of 10 thousand words, Talking Books the audio books for visually impaired, School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework SQAAF of CBSE, NISTHA teachers' training programme for NIPUN Bharat and Vidyanjali Portal for facilitating education volunteers or donors or CSR contributors for school development. 

The conclave will be attended by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Ministers of State for Education Annapurna Devi, Dr. Subhas Sarkar and Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh along with senior officials of the Ministry.

Mr Kumar said, the inaugural conclave will be followed by webinars, discussions and presentations up to 17th of this month in which the educational practitioners from various schools of the country have been invited to share their experience, learnings and the roadmap ahead. Teachers and practitioners from even remote schools will be speaking on issues relating quality and innovation in schools.
