President Ram Nath Kovind to participate in Shastra Puja at Kargil war memorial in Drass today

Leh: President Ram Nath Kovind will celebrate Dussehra with Jawans at Drass in Ladakh today. President Kovind is on a two-day visit to Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.

On the second day of his visit today, President Kovind will lay wreath at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass. He will also interact with the troops at the war memorial. The President, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will participate in Vijaya Dashami celebrations with Shastra Puja at the war memorial. Yesterday, President Kovind interacted with troops along with their families at the Northern Command at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir. He extended best wishes to the soldiers on the occasion of Dussehra.

Earlier in the day, Mr Kovind performed Sindhu Darshan puja at Sindhu Ghat in Leh. The President was accorded a guard of honour on his arrival at the Leh airport. Lieutenant

President of India and the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces Ram Nath Kovind is visiting Kargil War Memorial for the first time. On his arrival, Ladakh LG RK Mathur will receive the President at Kargil War Memorial, in Drass. President will lay wreath at Kargil War Memorial, to pay homage to the war martyrs.

Army officials brief him about Kargil war at the foothills of Tololing. President Mr Kovind will participate in Vijaya Dashami celebrations with Shastra Puja at war memorial, with armed forces. Later he will interact with the troops at the war memorial. Kargil Hill Council CEC Feroz Ahmed Khan and Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, also be present during the President's programme at War Memorial.
