Preparations are in full swing to celebrate International Yoga Day tomorrow. Ranchi has been chosen to organise the main event which will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Over 30 thousand people are expected to participate in the main event which will be attended by several state dignitaries, besides the Yoga Organisations and Yoga Gurus. 

On 11 December 2014, the United Nations had proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga after recognising its universal appeal.

National capital is also gearing up to celebrate International Day of Yoga tomorrow. Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council Naresh Kumar said, the main event in the city will be organised at Rajpath.
Registrar of Delhi Medical Council and president of Delhi Medical Association Dr Girish Tyagi said, Yoga has an important role in disease control.

Prem Bhatia of Vishwa Bharti Yoga Sansthan, an NGO said, apart from conducting yoga programmes on International Day of Yoga they will felicitate Yoga teachers and Yoga Students.
 
In Jharkhand, preparations are almost over at the Prabhat Tara ground of Ranchi  where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform Yoga along with 28 thousand people at  the main event of  International Yoga day. The main venue  has an area of about seven lakh square feet, which has been divided into 47 blocks. Special attention has been given to the convenience of the participants and overall security. Khadi yoga mats will be used  in place of the usual rubber yoga mats this year over  environmental  concerns. The theme of this year's event is “Yoga for Heart.”

In Andaman Nicobar Islands, the administration in collaboration with other stake holders is organizing a series of programmes to celebrate International yoga day. Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, AVSM,ADC, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command along with senior officers, personnel and families of the Indian Army, Navy , Air Force and Coast Guard will participate in the Yoga day event.
 
In Madhya Pradesh, the AYUSH Department is  organizing 'yoga near to your home' program on the occasion of  International Yoga Day. Similarly, yoga programs have also been organized in various places of the state including the Raj Bhavan. The yoga in the Raj Bhavan will begin at 6 a.m. It will include more than a thousand people including students and staff of Barkatullah University, Women and Child Development Department, dignitaries and residents of Raj Bhavan campus. Meanwhile, the AYUSH department has invited Yoga-trained civilians to join Yoga as volunteers in the program ‘Yoga near to your Home.’ The citizens of the state can also participate in yoga program organized by the AYUSH department at nearest hospital, college and other places.

In Himachal Pradesh preparations for International Yoga day are on in full swing. The state level function will be held at the Historic ridge maidan in Shimla tomorrow. Yoga rehearsals are being conducted in various institutions including schools and



colleges across the state to make the International Yoga day a successful event.

Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief  Minister Jai Ram Thakur along with other dignitaries will also participate at state level function scheduled to be held at ridge maidan  in Shimla at 6: am. On this occasion yoga demonstration by divyang children will be the main attraction. A large number of local people, students including tourists are likely to perform yoga aasans on this occasion.

In Uttar Pradesh, the state government is making all efforts to promote Yoga.  The people are also showing great interest in preparations for the 5th International Yoga day. State Ayush Minister Dharm Singh Saini told  that to connect yoga with employment state government has established 100 wellness centers and has given jobs to the yoga teachers and their assistants. He also told that 50 bed hospitals have been opened in many districts of state and many more are in process of opening. AYUSH University is also going to start very soon in state.

Meanwhile Youngsters especially students promoted YOGA in a unique manner in Prayagraj yesterday by performing flash dance in shopping malls. Thousands of ITBP personal are also gearing up to perform Yoga tomorrow on the banks of Ramganga River in Bareily district. At many places prisoners in district jails and Divyangs are very enthusiastic to learn yoga and they are participating in practice sessions in large numbers. Under the Yoga fortnight marathon race was organised in Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar. 

In Ladakh division of Jammu and Kashmir, all arrangements have been put in place at both defence establishments and civilian areas to celebrate the 5th International Yoga day. Elaborate arrangements have been made by the defence establishment to celebrate the International Yoga Day at the Siachen Base camp. Yoga instructor Phunchok Ladakhi will train over 200 soldiers about  Yoga during the session. 

Indo Tibetan Border Police is organising yoga session for its jawans on the banks of the Indus River at Shey village in Leh town. Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre at Leh in its campus has planed a session for Yoga enthusiasts coming from different parts of the country.
 
In Tamil Nadu, several special yoga sessions are being held at many places in Chennai in view of the fifth International Day of Yoga tomorrow. Private bodies complement the efforts of public sector units in conducting mass yoga sessions. Mass sessions are being organized in public places like parks and educational institutions to popularize yoga. 

The Chennai Metro Rail Corporation is conducting yoga sessions in the mornings and evenings in its different station premises since yesterday that would be continued till Sunday, with special sessions on Friday. The National Institute of Siddha, a central AYUSH institute in Chennai, has organized a marathon yoga practice on Friday. The yoga enthusiasm is catching up with the public on a massive scale.
