In Bihar, a portion of the Under Construction Bridge over Ganga River collapsed yesterday. The Aguanhighat-Sultanganj Bridge  part of a project to provide connectivity between Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts. Earlier in November 2022 another part of the bridge had also collapsed during gusty winds.

The Officiating District Magistrate of Bhagalpur Kumar Anurag told Akashvani News that no casualty happened in the incident.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had laid the foundation of construction of the bridge in 2014. The project cost of the Ganga river bridge is 780



crore rupees.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a detailed probe into the matter of bridge collapse. Mr. Kumar said those who are responsible for the incident will be punished. They will not be spared and get exemplary punishment.

The Chief Minister sought a report from the Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department Pratyaya Amrit  soon after the incident and asked him to identify the responsible persons over the collapse of the structure of the under construction bridge.
