Mumbai's popular destination, Matheran, has been opened for tourists since yesterday. The famous hill station was closed for tourists before the Coronavirus induced lockdown was imposed in the country in March. Matheran's entire economy is dependent on tourists. However, on March 17 this year, District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary through an order closed this place for tourists to prevent the outbreak of Covid



-19.
 
As part of Mission Begin Again, the hill station has been opened from yesterday for tourists. The Collector has issued orders in this regard. The first day saw 28 tourists visiting the place which is rich in flora and fauna. Mayor Prerna Sawant has appealed to the tourists coming to Matheran to follow all precautionary measures and adhere to Covid 19 protocols.
