Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Zydus Cadila Pharmaceutical’s vaccine development facility at Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad and got first hand information on ZycoV-D, a Covid19 vaccine candidate.
 
Mr. Modi also visited the vaccine development and manufacturing facilities at Zydus Biotech Park accompanied by scientists. He also held meeting with Zydus Cadila Pharmaceutical's scientists and reviewed the process of the vaccine development, its trials and timings of final roll out.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed by Chief Secretary of Gujarat Anil Mukim at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport Ahmedabad. Zydus Cadila Pharmaceutical’s vaccine development facility at Zydus Biotech Park is working on ZyCoV-D, a Covid19 vaccine candidate. 

Zydus Cadila is expected to submit the results of its Phase 2 trials next week, which will ascertain the safety, dose and efficacy of the potential vaccine. It will also apply for Phase 3 clinical trials of its COVID-19 vaccine in December. The company expects to introduce the vaccine by March next year.
