Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Chennai on Friday and proceed to Puducherry for a roadshow ahead of the April 9 assembly polls in the Union Territory. The Prime Minister will land in Chennai and head to Puducherry by helicopter. 

The 1.7 km long roadshow from Ajantha Signal junction to Anna Square is scheduled to commence after 4.15 pm, when the Prime Minister arrives. He is likely to address a rally in support of the ruling AINRC-led NDA led by Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy. BJP, AIADMK and the fledgling LJK are among the constituents of



NDA.

The NDA leaders and candidates will accompany the PM at the event that would see the participation of over 30,000 people, the BJP said on Friday.

Assembly Speaker R Selvam told reporters in Puducherry that the Prime Minister will reach the Union Territory at 4.15 pm and he would drive straight to the Ajantha Junction for the roadshow, which is likely to last for about an hour. 

Thereafter, he would return to Chennai for the night's halt at a hotel in Guindy, and on April 4 would interact with BJP leaders in a closed-door meeting.
