Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district on August 1, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha said on Monday.
She, along with MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, district collector S. Ram Sundar Reddy, and SP A.R. Damodar, inspected the arrangements being made for the Prime Minister's visit and the inauguration ceremony.
The Home Minister directed officials to ensure proper coordination among
departments for the smooth conduct of the programme.
Folk art performances showcasing the culture and traditions of North Andhra are also being planned to welcome the Prime Minister. Elaborate preparations are under way for the inauguration and the public meeting.
Arrangements are being made across a 60-acre venue, while parking facilities are being organised for around 3,000 vehicles. Security arrangements have been divided into four sectors to ensure effective crowd and traffic management.
