Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold delegation level talks with Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in New Delhi today. Both the leaders will discuss the issues of mutual interest. 

Mr Modi and Mr Oli will jointly inaugurate Integrated Check Post (ICP) Birgunj from the national capital today through remote control. 

Equipped with state of the art infrastructure ICP Birgunj in Parsa district of Nepal has been constructed with the assistance from the Government of India. 

It will facilitate integrated customs and immigration for smooth cross-border movement of people and goods. Birgunj is known as Gateway to Nepal and more than 60 per cent trade of Nepal is done via Birgunj.



The ICP will not only reduce time in completing formalities at border but also ease and boost bilateral trade. 

In the morning, Mr Oli was accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of the Rashtrapati Bhawan. On the occasion, Mr Oli said friendship is most important and there is no comparison with friendship and any treaty any agreement, everything starts from friendship. He said with neighbours, particularly with India, Nepal first expect friendship. 

President Ram Nath Kovind called on Mr Oli in New Delhi this morning. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will also call on the visiting dignitary.
