Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on an official visit to France and Slovakia from June 13 to 19, 2026, followed by participation in the G7 Summit in France, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday.
PM Modi will begin his two-nation tour in France on June 14, where he will hold bilateral talks with President Emmanuel Macron. Both leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of the India–France Special Global Strategic Partnership, recently elevated to the highest level.
During the visit, the two leaders will jointly inaugurate the “Bharat Innovates” event, a flagship platform bringing together startups and venture capital funds from India, France and other partner countries. The event is being organised as part of the India–France Year of Innovation and aims to strengthen cooperation in technology, entrepreneurship and investment.
In the second leg of the tour, PM Modi will
undertake a historic State Visit to Slovakia from June 14 to 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. This will mark the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country’s independence in 1993.
In Slovakia, PM Modi will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Fico and meet President Peter Pellegrini. The discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and manufacturing sectors, including automobiles and railways.
PM Modi's Slovakia visit follows recent high-level exchanges between the two countries, including the Slovak President’s participation in the AI Impact Summit in India in February 2026.
PM Modi will then travel to Evian, France, on June 16–17 to attend the G7 Summit, where he is expected to participate in discussions on global economic recovery, international solidarity, and the responsible deployment of artificial intelligence.
