Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN scheme worth 18 thousand crore rupees in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu to support nine crore farmers across the country.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore today.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Modi said, the agriculture sector has witnessed transformative reforms in the past 11 years.
He said, the country is becoming a global hub in natural farming and its biodiversity is taking
a new shape. Mr. said, agricultural exports have doubled, and the government has taken several steps to modernise the agriculture practices.
He said, assistance of more than 10 lakh crore rupees has been provided to farmers through Kisan Credit Cards. He said, the reduction of GST on bio-fertilisers has also helped farmers significantly.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the youth of the country are now viewing agriculture as a modern and scalable opportunity. He stressed that collected efforts are required to create a futuristic agriculture system for a developed India.
