New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today paid homage to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his death anniversary. 

In a tweet, Mr Modi said the nation will never forget his efforts for national progress and serving the poor. He said, Inspired by his vision, India is working round the clock to ensure the fruits of



development reach the marginalised and the downtrodden.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was the leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh from 1953 to 1968. He was born on the 15th of September, 1916, in the sacred region of Brij of the village Nagla Chandraban in Mathura.
