Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday took to Facebook to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Chinese infiltration bids and alleged that the prime minister made a 'tricolour deal' with China.

"How will the prime minister, who has made a tricolor deal with China, see the infiltration of China. A true patriot is one who fights to protect every inch of the country," Rahul Gandhi said.

"China has dared to occupy the borders of our country. The prime minister has bowed before China for eight years," he added.

The Centre had recently amended the Flag Code of India, allowing the tricolour to be made

from polyester and other machine-made fabric. The move was questioned by proponents of khadi as well as the Congress.

The Congress had questioned the move, saying that the replacement material would need to be imported and would end up benefitting countries like China.

"Why did we have to resort to polyester imported from China for making national flags? Why is India's imports from China increasing even as infiltration across the border is increasing?" the Congress leader questioned.

He further asked the prime minister to address the nation and provide answers on the pressing issues with China.
