Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on a two-day state visit to neighbouring Maldives, on Saturday attended the country's 60th Independence Day celebrations as the 'Guest of Honour'.

PM Modi attended the ceremony in Male along with Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, the First Lady and Vice President



Hussain Mohamed Latheef. Before the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi was accorded a Guard of Honour as he met top officials from the Maldivian government.

After his two-day visit to the island nation, PM Modi left for Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu, where he is slated to launch a slew of infrastructure projects on Sunday.
