PM Modi attacks Nehru's Indus Water Treaty, says India has rectified mistake

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while leading Operation Sindoor debate in Parliament, called the Indus Waters Treaty a significant mistake by Jawaharlal Nehru that harmed the nation and its farmers. 

He alleged that under the agreement, India



was prevented from de-silting its own dams at Pakistan's insistence, with claims that a de-silting gate was even welded shut. The speaker declared that India has now decided that "blood and water cannot flow together" and has moved to rectify this past error.
