The government on Thursday said that nearly 1 lakh tonnes of LPG has been supplied since the middle of March this year, including 6,700 tonnes on Wednesday, equivalent to about 3.5 lakh 19 kg cylinders. 

However, the government is ensuring the 100 per cent supply of LPG for domestic households in the country, according to a senior official. Addressing the inter-ministerial briefing, joint secretary at the ministry of petroleum and natural gas, Sujata Sharma said that no dry-outs have been reported in LPG distributors so



far. 

She also emphasised that the supply of bulk non-domestic LPG has been restored for sectors like food, polymer, agriculture and others and over 10 lakh commercial LPG cylinders have been sold since March 23.

“Since March 14, nearly 1lakh tonnes have been supplied, including 6,700 tonnes yesterday, equivalent to about 3.5 lakh 19 kg cylinders. 

The LPG cylinders were distributed to over 51 lakh homes on Wednesday and OTP based LPG delivery has reached 92 per cent and online booking has reached 98 per cent,” she said.
