In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan troops initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing with small arms and heavy mortar shelling along the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district early this morning. Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Defence Colonel Davinder Anand said that Pakistan troops initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing and heavy mortar shelling along the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district today at about 0700 hours.
 
He said, PaK Troops initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and thereafter heavy mortar shelling along the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district. The Indian Army troop guarding the fence are retaliating befittingly with equal caliber. The exchange of fire continued till reports last came in. There are no reports of damage to any property and loss of any life from Indian side so far.
