Amid escalated tension between India and Pakistan, the latter's drones were sighted in Jammu, Samba and Pathankot sector on Friday. Apart from this, massive explosions were heard in Jammu on Friday evening as India's air defence intercepts Pakistani drones amid complete blackout. In Amritsar and Pathankot, many drones of Pakistan have been shot down by India’s air defence system. Currently, no other drones have been seen in Amritsar and Pathankot.
At the moment, the sky is clear in both places. As soon as there was a blackout, there were sounds of drones being sighted in both places. A search will be conducted in the morning to know
where the drones have been shot down.
Over 10-12 drones were seen on Kutch and Banaskantha border areas of Gujarat. Several Pakistani drones have been shot down near the Attari border line in Amritsar. A red alert has also been issued in Barmer, with sirens continuously sounding in the area. Several drones were also spotted in Ferozepur and Amritsar.
Meanwhile, a complete blackout has been enforced in Udhampur of Jammu Division, and sirens were heard across the region. A complete blackout has been enforced in Punjab’s Firozpur, while sirens and explosions could be heard.
Earlier in the day, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi revealed that 300 to 400 drones were deployed by Pakistan across 36 locations, with several being shot down by Indian forces using both kinetic and non-kinetic methods. Initial investigations suggest the drones were Turkish-made Asisguard Songar models.
