In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Army troops initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing with small arms and heavy mortar shelling along the Line of Control in Mankote sector of district Poonch in the wee hours today.
 
Public Relations Officer (Defence) Colonel Davinder Anand said, Pakistan Army troops initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing with small arms and thereafter heavy mortar shelling along the LoC in yet another ceasefire violation at 0430 hours.
 
The vigilant Indian Army troops, guarding the fence are retaliating with equal



caliber to silence the guns of the Pak Army troops.
 
There are no reports of demage to any property and loss of any life from over side so far.
 
The exchange of fire continued till the reports last came in. More details are awaited.
 
Pertinently, 1,847 ceasefire violations by Pak Army troops and Pakistani Rangers have been recorded this year so far along the LoC and International Border in the districts close to the LoC and International Border in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
