In Assam, over 80 thousand people are reeling under the fury of flood. Official sources said in Guwahati that 187 villages in four districts have been affected. 
Flood water also damaged crop land and disrupted road communication in many areas. Six bamboo bridges washed away in Jorhat district. Over 68 thousand people have been affected in worst hit Lakhimpur district alone. State disaster management authority has issued flood alert in parts of Jorhat, Nagaon, Golaghat and Barpeta districts for the next 24 hours.

Nearly 70 percent areas of Pobitara wildlife sanctuary in Morigaon district have been inundated. Administration has stopped ferry services on Brahmaputra in Guwahati due to rising water level. 
Meanwhile, state disaster management authority has issued flood alert in parts of Jorhat, Nagaon,Golaghat and Barpeta districts for the next 24 hours.
