In Karnataka, the crucial by-election to 15 Assembly constituencies saw an average of over 66.25 per cent voter turnout.

The polling that held yesterday remained by and large peaceful. A few cases of EVM malfunction and voters not finding their names in the electoral roll were reported during the voting.

Assembly segment recorded the highest --79.80 per cent polling while Shivajinagar seat in Bengaluru registered the lowest 41.13 per cent voter turnout.

The by-elections seal the fate of 165 candidates, of which 156 are men and nine are women. The counting of votes will be taken up on Monday.
