The Government has said that more than five lakh 5G base transceiver stations have been installed across the country till date. 

Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha. Mr Scindia said the rural connectivity has improved under the BharatNet project. 

He said, as of



October this year, 2.14 lakh Gram Panchayats are service-ready for broadband connectivity, and 13.66 lakh fibre to the home connections have been provided throughout the country under this project. 

The Minister said that the Government has taken a number of steps using Digital Bharat Nidhi to bridge the digital divide in remote and border areas.
