Over 48.5 lakh kg rice distributed among affected families 'Assam flood'

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the state government has maintained an uninterrupted supply of essential food items to flood-affected families since the beginning of the current flood situation, with more than 48.5 lakh kg of rice distributed across the state.

Sharing details of the government’s flood response on social media, CM Sarma said the administration had remained firmly committed to standing with people affected by the floods and ensuring that



essential supplies reached them without interruption.

“Never once faltering, never once stepping back when our people need us. Since Day 1, essential food items have been reaching flood affected families across Assam. We will continue to be there, every step of the way,” CM Sarma said in a post on X.

According to the figures shared by the Chief Minister, the state has distributed 48,55,864 kg of rice to flood-affected people since the first day of the relief operation.
